Often, you are not in control of where a light switch or thermostat control is placed. Sometimes, they are placed right in the middle of a wall!
An easy way to work around this is to arrange a series of pictures or pieces of art in a group around something that you are trying to draw attention away from. The eye will settle on the "pretty" images, and will make the unwanted items recede slightly in importance. Try it!
