I wanted to share one of our favorite snacks - Edamame! This can be bought from the frozen food section of Trader Joe's. They have several options :: this says cooks in 5 minutes - it's more or less right. Once the water reaches a boil you add the beans and then bring back to a boil and cook a couple of minutes and then drain. Another one cooks in less time and you can also get them already shelled. Those are good if you want to add them to pastas or salads. My kids like to squeeze them from the shell so I buy them in the shell. I find this to be a great snack when just off the bus, but it also works well for when you are making dinner and everyone is starving and circling around :: or does that only happen in my kitchen??
